Tony_MacTony Mac
Born and bred in the North East, started DJing  at 18 years old in a bar in Ponteland, on the outskirts of Newcastle, due to my somehow non-existent experience in mixing it wasn't the best debut. However, I must have done something right as it did stop most of the fights and instead found people dancing about.
After a year stint I tried my luck in Newcastle’s busy west end where after a few months I became resident at 'Powerhouse', one of the city’s biggest clubs. I stayed for few  years  and it took me around the city playing in some of the busiest and best known venues such as Switch, Club Sugar, Shearers Bar in St James’ Park and the good old “The Loft”. I could be here all day listing them but I am bored already.
Whilst working as dj I somehow managed a BA in Media Production where my passion for radio grew further. I gained most experience for producing radio here including  interviewing  a few Z list celebs. The best bit was following local bands and artists around gigging and recording their sets and interviewing them after for my show on Utopia FM with my radio wife Gaynor.
Oh got to mention Radio Tyneside where I first presented radio doing the 6-8am slot – ouch! Not in tune with my love of late mornings!!  Great station to start on in the toon though.
Now back in Spain after trying out Italy (great food) and Moscow (great, eerr, Vodka, not so great weather). I first started at The Beat in early 2007 and doing the weekend show. I now do a regular Friday night show 6-8pm kicking off the weekend with some dance tunes to get you in the mood. I also do a bit of audio production (the bits in between the songs). Plus get to DJ out and about from time to time on the costa. Enjoy the listening and keep the comments coming!!!
